Yacht Club Is Scene Of Lovely Pre-Holiday Party Everyone at Lil and George Stone’s cocktail party at the Yacht Club Tuesday night was exclaim- ing over the beautifully decorated buffet table and those who had just returned to Key West for the winter were greeting old friends. Paramount topics of conversa- tion were ‘When are your children coming home for Christmas?” and “What are your plans for the holi- days?” Mrs. Stone greeted guests at the door wearing a smart black cock- tail dress and a beautiful stole of gauzy black silk with an intricate woven design of gold. It was brought to Mrs. Stone from India by a Naval Officer sta- tioned here during the war. Tall silver candelabra, white can- dls, Brazillian pepper and white hibiscus blossoms were used to de- corate the buffet table, literally groaning with a lavish assortment of delicious foods, including cold turkey, ham and shrimp. The guests, most of them long- time friends of the Stone’s were still talking about the clever invi- tations and carefully avoided men- ed!
