Autopsy Set Into Mystery Death Of Gladys George HOLLYWOOD u— An autopsy was ordered today into the death of Gladys George, 50-year-old for- mer movie and stage actress found unconscious yesterday in her apartment. Her physician, Dr. Russell Jones said there was a possibility her death was caused by a barbitur- ate. He said he had her sent to the hospital and that she died be- fore tests could be completed that would have determined whether she had taken sleeping tablets. Dr. Jones said the actress had been treated, successfully, for throat cancer a few years ago.
