Gray Ladies Plan Activities At Coffee Meeting The regular monthly business meeting of the Gray Lady Corps was held ih the Red Cross Recrea- tion Hall at the US Naval Hospital, Thursday, September 9 with Mrs. Albert Leightley presiding as chairman, Mrs, Sherman was wel- eomed to the local corps as a transfer from the Bethesda, Mary- land, Chapter. The hostesses for the coffee were the chairman and co-chairman Mrs. John O’Brien, Working schedules for the re- mainder of September and Octo- ber were prepared. Also, plans were made for the monthly birth- day party at the County Old Folks Home at which time Mrs. West- fall, Mrs. Mann and Mrs, Leight- ley will be hostesses. The next business meeting will be held October 14 at the Red Cross Recreation Hall at the US Naval Hospital with Mrs, Westfall and Mrs. Mann hostesses. Present at the meeting were: Miss Marjorie Oliver, Field Direc- tor, American ,Red Cross, at the US Naval Hospital, Mrs. Carola R. Circle of the First Congregational Church held its regular monthly meeting on Mon- day evening at 8 o'clock in the church annex. The meeting was opened with the group repeating the Lord’s Prayer. Murphy is also planning to attend. “The meeting will be called to order at seven thirty,” said Mr. Council. “Once again I would like to stress the fact that every adult resident in Sigsbee Park is auto- matically a Council member with voting right. Naval personnel and Navy wives contemplated a trip to Cuba or possible duty in Latin America, (and many who don’t) eagerly repeated the phrases and numerals pronounced by Instructor Benildes Remond. The rapid conversation method used by Miss Remond enables students to speak and understand Spanish in a comparatively short e. The Spanish class will be held every Tuesday evening until May.
