SOCLETY — NEWS OF INTEREST TO WOMEN SUE JONES, Editor Girl Of The Month Dance At The USO On Thursday Nite The scoop from the USO-YMCA says that the Debonaires will play for the dance at 9:00 tomorrow night. It will be held on the USO patio — a cool spot to dance on warm summer nights! Door prizes, refreshments and “novelty dances” as usual. Doughnuts and coffee are served “family style’ by GSO hostesses Joyce and Vida Thompson and Dot- ty Atwell at 9:30 to 10:30 Sunday morning. Chapel Chimes and church call afterwards. “Meet Danny Wilson” starring Frank Sinatra and Shelley Winters will be shown at 8:00 Sunday night. Elinore Gato and Elvira Perez will hostess the Lucky Party on Monday night. These lucky parties are always great fun, with assort- ed prices for the winners. Tuesday night is ‘Fudge cooking time” with Patty and Kathy Brady on hand to help with the mixing of ingredients. The classical music hour at 7:00 is a popular feature every Tuesday night at the USO. Get in step for the Girl of the Month Dance with a free dance lesson from Gene Arnow. The weekly dance classes begin at 7:30 each Wednesday night. “The Girl of the Month” will be honored at Thursday night’s dance. The GSO member who has contri- buted the most hours of service during the month receives a silver medal and is “queen of the Dance.” Gus Ayala’s popular combo will play for: this looked-forward-to-af- fair. Like bridge, pinochle, hearts, or canasta? Ever played chess or Scrabble? Friday night is your chance to play old favorites and learn new ones — it’s Games Choice night at the USO. | The USO is open seven days a week from 9:00 in the morning un- til midnight and offers many and varied facilities for help and en- tertainment for servicemen. The USO is a “red feather” a- gency and receives funds from the Community Chest. Harold Pinders Return From Extended Visit Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Pinder of 611 Francis Street have recently returned from a three-month stay in the Bahamas whee they visited relatives. “* ° ~ * » cheatin In Nassau, the Pinders visited a brother of Mr. Pinder, Clifton, who is in the grocery business. Dr., Mrs. Radin To Live Here Dr. and Mrs. Murray Radin who came to Key West in July of this year to visit Mrs. Radin’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Aberladi Boza liked Key West so very much they deeided to make it their home. Dr. Radin is from New York Ci- ty. Prior to World War II, Dr. Ra- din was training director for five police precincts for civilian defense and he was also manager for the Disaster Relief Service for the Red Cross. Dr. Radin is a veteran of the last war. He obtained his Chiropratic edu- cation at the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Ill., and served his internship at the Chica- go General Health Service. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree. Upon discharge from the Navy, Dr. Radin practiced Physical The- rapy in Jacksonville, Fla., and was appointed toytreat veterans by the Veteran’s inistration. Dr. Radin is a former athlete and still is a great sports enthusiast. While serving in the Navy, he was chief trainer for football, baseball, and boxing teams and coached the Navy boxing team in 1948 for com- petition in the Golden Gloves Tour- nament. Dr. Radin has opened his office at 817 White St. Veterans Of WW One Meeting Tonight Membership cards will be given out at the meeting of the Veterans of World War One tonight at 8:00 at the Knights of Pythias Hall, 728 Fleming Street. Plans will be made for the installation of officers and for the formal institution of the Key West Barracks. All World War One veterans are cordially invited to attend. Membership is this national or- ganization is open to any one who served in this country or abroad during the first World War.
