They visited Havana and then went down the coast and also stopped at Matanzas to see an old friend — Meena Valdez. Swimming on cottage beaches, or in woodland streams — both likely spots for the family on vacation— is an adventure, and that’s part of the fun. First off, everybody — includi dad— should bear in mind what makes lifeguards and roped lanes and other protection necessary in Popular pools. And where there aren’t any such safeguards, Iet there be no foolishness. This bans swimming by yourself, swimming after dark, swimming out farther than anyone else. And the other things that ought to be completely obvious but clear- ly aren’t if you glance at the drowning stories in the Paper. The kids, though, may need some specially enjoy them ‘cause it’s not expensive and you just can‘t help feeling sorta “holidayish” in such a cool and: délightful spot and | might add the broad vistas of the Atlantic and the delicious food aid and abet this mood.
