End onstruction Slump Seen Here Of Building Permits For 14 New Residences Total $136,800 There was good news for Key West construction workers this week. With $136,000 in building permits taken out for new home construction, it looks like the slump that has plagued the building trades was about to end. Jeff Knight, head of the Florida State Employment Service office here, believes the slump is showing signs of ending. He said that with the construc- tion that is now on the books and more than he knows is due, there will be plenty of work for every- one. “I'd rather have employers both- ering me than unemployed work- ers,” he said. The CBS Construction Co., Inc., topped the weeks permits by tak- ing out permits for 10 new CBS homes with a total value of $93,- 000. Permits for four other new hom- @s totalled $43,800.
