THE KEY WEST CITIZEN TO Monday, May 31, 1954 New Advertising Program Planned By Insurance Men Twe executive managers of Key businesses cooperated last Satur- day to bring about a public rela- tions dicussion which should bene- fit local residents. James B. Symmonette, manag- er of Gulf Life Insurance Co., call- ed an informal meeting of person- nel under his supervision to hear a representative sent by John Cel- lar, Key West Citizen advertising manager. Immediate question under consi- deration was how to best inform ci- tizens of the value of life insur- ance in & dignified, ethical man- ner. Underwriting companies have long been faced with the problem of the best method to change the public’s. misconception of insur- ance as a “die-to-win” proposition. With many of the new policies being sold, the truth of the matter is that owners live to enjoy their insurance benefits. Local underwriters of Gulf Life Insurance Co. have decided to co- operate on a unique advertising plan which will enable their clients to select insurance with complete confidence and understanding. The fact that Gulf Life has approxi- mately three million dollars invest- ed in Key West is an example of the many items should jar Citizen’s representative point- out. The new advertising program will go into effect next Monday when The Citizen will add a fea- ture page designed to present the story of Key West businesses — written by a Key Wester for Key West visitors and residents, LEGAL NOTICES IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE 16th JUDICIAL CIRCUIT, IN AND FOR MONROE COUNTY, FLOR- IDA.
