Overseas Transportation “Wicked Woman” Stars Scheming — BlondeBeauty The story of “Wicked Woman,” the United Artists drama stated to open Thursday at the Monroe Theatre, is one not often seen on the screen. It deals with a woman whose face is pretty but whose mind is evil and scheming. That is a combination which generally makes trouble for some guy — hence: the exciting, back-door love story: of “Wicked Woman.” Beverly Michaels, who wowed the critics in “Pickup” last season is cast as Billie Nash, a girl who has traveled far, fast and often, and now sees a chance of picking up a new guy, a fast buck and a cushy vacation in Mexico by get- ditch his wife and his restaurant, to ditch is wife and his restaurant, to spend the rest of his blissful days with her. Presented by -Edward Small, “Wicked Woman” was produced, written and directed by the Clar- ence Greene - Russell Rouse team which was responsible for ‘The Well,” and “The Thief.” To be more specific, Greene produced, Rouse directed, and they both wrote the screenplay. Others in the cast include Percy Helton, as a timid tailor, who turns out to be not so timid, and Evelyn Scott as the wife whose predilection to “hit the bottle,” al- most cost her her husband.
