Harris opened the business meeting by welcoming and introducing the following new members: Mesdames C. E. Rim- mel, D. M. Weiss, G. D. Ickes, | .L. M. Smith, D. F. Nall, L. J. Corbett and M. D. Ransom. Guests present were Mrs. T. H. Atkins, Mrs. V. M. Geddy, Mrs. Ashton Dovell, M:s. Carrie Deal and Mrs, R. B. Frank, Sr. New officers of the club include Mrs. R. V. Hartman, chairman, Mrs. C. L. Kullberg, co-chairman, and Mrs. J. H. Koach, representa- tive to the Fort Taylor Officers’ Wives Club. Following the awarding of the door prize to Mrs. Geddy, the meeting was adjourned. The Annual Flower Show, sponsored by the Key West Garden Club, opens at 6 p.m., Saturday, February 28, in the Elks Club It has received national acclaim for beauty and interest and promises to live up to that reputation this year. However, orchids ‘are needed for the orchid display. in blocm which they want to show maz do so by calling 2-6096. The section of artistic arrangements is always one of the most popul-r parts of the show and covers a wide variety of form and color. Gene Otto is in charge of the twelve large shadow boxes that will be exhibited. They are in the creative manner of a still life painting and range in theme from modern to antique. There will be twenty-six minia———__—_—__________ ‘ James Sheppard And His Bride Arrive In City James Sheppard of this city, son'of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Shep- pard of Key West, exchanged mar- riage vows with Miss Virginia Pendleton of Jacksonville, Fla., on February 14 at St. Mary’s Epis- copal Church in Jacksonville. They are now at home at 1225 Petronia Street. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Frank P. Dearing at noon. The church was beautified with tall baskets of white gladioli agdinst a back- ground of lighted tapers in c: |delabra. Mrs. Austin, pianist pl: jed “Claire de Lune” and the tra- | ditional wedding marches as well as “The Lord’s Prayer” during the rites. The bride wore a dress of pale dusty pink nylon shantung with seed pearl trimming at the neck- jline. The fitted bodice topped a full skirt. Her only ornament was a cameo brooch, gift of the bride- | groom. She carried a white prayer- book with cascade of lilies of the valley and fresia with white satin jribbon. For something old, she carried a white Belgium lace hankerchief, an heirloom of the Sheppard family. She was given in marriage by her father, R. G. | Pendleton. This includes artistic arrangements of dried green plants, driftwood and sea-weed, Many other beautiful arrange- ments are to be shown. Mrs. Carl Bervaldi and Mrs. Hollon Berval- di are chairman of. the tropical floral arrangements. Rose arrange ments are being planned by Mrs. H. E. Galey. Mrs. John Butler is in charge of the miniature floral arrangements.
