Completion Of New Local Bank Building Will Be Marked Then Top ranking national and state banking officials are coming to Key West for the formal opening of the newly completed Florida National bank building, Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m., J. J. Trevor, president an- nounced today. The bank officers, directors and employees have. sent out invita- tions to officials of county and city and Navy. The public in general is cordially invited by means of this announce- ment and others in The Citizen to attend the gala opening. A souvenir gift for each person coming to Saturday’s opening will be distributed at the bank, Trevor said. Bank employees will conduct the general public and officials through the ornate new building and show the new drive-in feature of the bank to all who wish to see it. Among the top bankers present, in addition to local directors and officers, will be Edward Ball, co- ordinator of the Florida national group of banks; F, C. Sewalbe, as- sistant coordinator; Charles Shew- maker, president of the Miami bank; Ernest J. C. Doll, vice pres- ident of the Miami bank; George Chatfield, president of the Coral Gables bank; and Carl V. E. Brandebury, second vice president of the Guaranty Trust company of New York City, which is Florida National’s correspondent in the finance capital of the nation. Trevor stressed that the public is invited generally. Special jnvita- tions, he said, have gone only to public officials. All Monroe county persons whether or not they are bank customers are invited to see ‘ Top Concert Stars Will Perform Here Community Concert Performers Chosen At Sunday Meeting Whittemore and Lowe, leading national duo-pianists, will perform selection Saturday night, Mrs. Geo. Mills White, president, announced today. The popular pianists will inter- rupt their Key West vacation to perform ‘or the 750 members of the series. Last winter the pair vacationed in Key West but did not perform. There was so much demand for a concert, that the Community Con- certs committee decided to make them one of three selections for this season. Elena Nikolaidi, beautiful con- tralto of the Metropolitan, who has won acclamation by critics across the nation, will launch the concert season on December 15, Mrs, White said.
