Today the Yellow Jackets, tanked Gfth nationally, Saturday, October 25, 1952 YHE RWY WEST errmzeN Sen. Capehart Says GOP Win Is Necessary WASHINGTON (#—Sen. Homer E, Capehart (R-Ind) said today a Republican victory in November is necessary to free American econ- omy from the effects of “too many shackles and too much meddling.” “The cold, hard fact is that, on the basis of real buying power, the national income increased far less in the past 20 years of Demo- cratic rule than in the 20 years before the Democrats took office,” Capehart said in a statement re- leased by the Republican National Committee. “A family earning $35 a week in 1939 needs over $75 a week today just to provide the same standard of living. The family earning $60 then needs over $130 now and the family which earned $100 a week then has to have $230.” He said a new Republican ad- ministration will “halt undue gov- ernment interference with the na- tion's economy” and increase pros- perity.
