Depart<nent will lead the group who arrived by plane at 1:15 p.m. at Meacham Field. He was accompanied by Consul Carlos A. After Cobo, Eisner Object Mrs. George Kyle Rescues Sleeping Man From Blazing Bed Quick action by Mrs. George Kyle saved the life of bar-tender Bob Haywood whom she found asleep in a blazing bed at 1122 Si- monton street shortly after 10 a. m. today. She pulled him off the bed, beat at the flames meantime screaming for help. Two men, William D. Knowles and Lumley Parks, who were passing by ran to her assist- ance. They yanked the burning mattress out into the street and then went back to help pull the semi-conscious man from the bed- room which was smoke filled with clouds of it billowing out into the street, The rescued man didn’t wake up fulfy until he was mauled into the next room, and was still incoher- ent when questioned. Mr.s Kyle said that she got up at 9:30 a. m., and shortly after smelled smoke. “I thought some- one was burning old rags at first, then it got stronger so I went out on my porch. I live upstairs over Haywood’s apartment. I looked down over the railing and saw smoke. I knew that Bob was down there alone and asleep since he works all night. I ran down pray- ing the streens weren’t latched. They weren't. I called first and then went niside. There was so much smoke I couldn't see. J just felt around until I found bed in the backroom and until 1 got him out of it and half on the floor out of reach of the flames.
