Alonzo Cothron, Upper Keys contractor was sole bidder on road jobs for Upper and Lower Matecumbe. His aggregate bid on the roads was $24,842.45. He made a unit price bid. Contractor Perez underbid Henry Hudgins on a Sugar Loaf road con- ‘tract, bidding $7,527.85. The meeting at which four Com- missioners, and about 60 citizens were present also heard Louis Muniz, President of the Lower Key Property Owner Association intro- duce that group’s road chairman, Dave Cohen. Cohen said he had already given a petition for roads to Road Chairman Commissioner Harry Harris. Harris mentioned the fact that the Florida Keys Aqueduct com- mission is being asked to lay its pipes across the old highway be- tween Matecumbe and Tavernier before that stretch is resurfaced.
