He referred to the Libby, Mc- Neill and Libby. Company’s cut from $1.73 per dozen six-ounce cans to $1.47 per dozen, followed by the Minute Maid and Birdseye Corporations. Murray said there was “no log- ical reason for such a mad scram- ble to unload existing inventories” and said .the cuts came at a time “when it could do untold harm to the citrus growers of Florida.” He also said in his statement that “prices are already low, much Jower. than a year ago. And the movement of concentrates is much higher than a year ago, while the inventories are practically the same. . .” The Mutual president said there were about 15 million gallons of single strength juice left on hand and that at a rate of movement of about one million gallons per week, “it looks like we will have less than a normal carryover when the new pack starts in the latter part of December.” The Libby, McNeill and Libby firm has a concentrates plant in 2% H.
