Diana and Andy (the Cobo’s children) are having a glor- ious time.” Ruth Moors Breaks Leg In Missouri Ruth Moors, long-time winter re- sident in Key West, was recently injured in a fall at her summer residence in Rocky Mount, Miss- ouri. Her leg was broken in two places - one break occurring in the ankle. No complications have set in however, and she expects to regain normal use of the leg. Ruth, with her husband Bill Moors, has been coming to Key West during the winter months for years. Bill is a totally disabled World War I veteran and his wife is a nurse. They have found the warm winter weather to be best for Bill's health. The couple own their own trailer and were parked on Stock Island last winter. Both are enthusiatic fishermen and spend practically all of their time while down here out on the water. FORT JEFFERSON (Continued From Page One) St. Petersburg to the Tortugas to take her to Miami. Joe Santiné returned to the Fort today on the Coast Guard boat which makes fortnightly trips to Loggerhead Light station in the Tortugas. The bride-to-be is a member of the YMCA-USO staff and has lived in Key West for over four years. The groom is with the Navy in the U. S. Fleet Sonar School. The wedding will take place at the Manse of the Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ralph Rogers will perform the double ring rites. The bride’s attendant will be Miss Dorothy Raymer. Best man send. Usually, in such cases, the parents >f the child are unable to afford the specialized medical cere required. Crippled children in this area who will be present at the Clinic have been notified and the sched- uled hour for their appointmen:s made. It is not likely that any child not already on record can be accepted due to the over- loaded schedule. The last clinic of this type was held in November. City Budget A new budget for the City of Key West is in the process of being pre- pared. It will be presented to the City Commission by City Manager King at their first meeting in July. Rumored about town is gossip that city taxes will be cut by one mill. When asked about this, Mr. King said that he <‘certainly hoped so but that it would be impossible to give a statement one way or an- other until final adoption of a bud- jeu” Last year the City had hoped to cut taxes by one mill, At the last moment, the State Legislature passed an act requiring the City of Key West to appropriate a large sum of money to the Monroe Coun- ty General Hospital. The result was that instead of a “cut”, the tax as- sessment was raised by one mill.
