There are classes for everyone which furnish a wholesome opportunity for study- ing the Bible and the Christian Re- ligion. The faculty is made up of _@ group of conscientious Christians _whose sole interest is the spiritual enrichment of tneir pupils. ‘The Morning Worship Service is regularly scheduled for 10:50. This week the pastor, the Rev. Eldon Simmons, will continue a series of sermons on the general theme of Christian Stewardship. The purpose of the Dinner is to underwrite the Church Budget for the new year which begins June 1. This is the one and only time during the year when the Church asks its members and friends for funds with which to carry on the regular program of the Church. The Budget is well prepared and diligently adhered to, except in cases of extreme and un- expected circumstances. This me- thod of insuring the financial pro- gram of the Church has been high- ly successful in recent years and it is expected that this year it will be even more successful than in former years. Grace Lutheran Celebrates Ist Anniversary Sunday morning in the service of worship at Grace Lutheran Church, Flagler Avenue and Tenth Street, will be given to year ago on the first Sunday of May, May 6 1951, that the first services were conducted in the newly built church, The Rev. Carl Sammetin Ser, pastor of the church, will speak to the members and the friends of Grace Church on the words of the Prophet Samuel, “Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.’ “During this first year in which God has provided us with a pro- perty and building of our own, we have been privileged to use these @ifts to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to many members, service men and their families, tourists and friends. We have been enabled to bring the simple truths of Jesus to children in the Sunday School and in the Kindercarten. For this privilege and for the blessings He has given our labors, we are most Srateful to the Lord who hath help- ed us hitherto.” On this Sunday, the first anniver- sary of the church building, the members will begin to bring their monthly gifts of love for a building fund for an Educational Building ‘The Christian education of the chil dren is considered so important that the members are willing to five freely of their earthly means in order to provide adequate fa cilities. Meeker will give the sec- ond in the series of sermons on The Lord’s Prayer entitled ‘The Holy Name.” The time of the evening service has been changed to 7:45 from now until Fall. The choir will sing the anthem “I Would Be True” by Peery. Gerald Saunders will direct and Mrs. Paul Archer will be at the organ. The monthly meeting of the Mis- sionary Society will take place Wednesday night at 7:30 to be fol- lowed by the regular prayer ser- vice. A full length feature movie “Gol- gotha”’ will be shown at the church Friday night at 7:45. The public is invited. A free will offering will be received. \Rev. Rogers Tells Of Fireside Chats When FDR inaugurated the fire- side chats in this country, he was only following an old custom which tends to bind men more closely to- gether. The Rev.
