Beers entered the naval! service as an enlisted man in) July 1944 and was commissioned | an ensign in December, 1944.} Upon being commissioned, he at-| tended the Pre-Radar School Cambridge, Mass.; Radar School,} Massachusetts Institute of Tech- nology. Cambridge; the Control Radar School, Bell Tele- plione Laboratories, New York, N, Y.; and the Electronics School, Aiéa, Honolulu. In December, 1945, he was%as- ip USS New ant radar }; material officer and remained at that station until May, 1946, when he was promoted to lieu- fenant (jg) and released to inac- tive duty. Lt. Beers’ service medals in- clude the American Area, Asiat Pacific Area and World War II Victory Medal. He is a member of, the American Institute of electrical engineers. Lt, Beers is married, to the former Miss Ethel Rowena Downs of Pasadena, Calif. They have two children, Carol Ann, 51%, and David Allen, three months. Robe- son, Jr., USN, has been trans- ferred from the Destroyer Escort USS Wilke (EDE 800) to the Sur- face Anti-Submarine Develop- ment Detachment for duty. A native of Rochester, N. Y., Lt. Robeson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Robeson, 21 Elmcroft Road, Rochester 9, N. Y. He was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1946. His first sea duty was aboard the USS LSM 484 as commanding officer, followed by nine months dut the Heavy Cruiser USS Ro ter (CA-124) as third div officer. Upon his return to shore duty,-he-was stationed at the U.S Naval Academy Preparatory School as instructor in_ history and math.
