To$ Victory Over NAS VX-1 In Second Softhall Tilt At Park By DON EDWARDS __ The Sea Cats softball squad trounced the GE Scien- tists 22-3 last night at Bayview Park in the first game of a doubleheader in the Island City Softball loop. In the Second tilt, the Independents stomped the snappy uni- formed VX-1 squad by a score of 17-9 behind the able pitching of Don Williams. Forni lead off for the Sea Cats and quickly received a free trot to first, Harris walked. Malby folowed suit, Griffith then slammed a long four run home run. The rest of the batting order came up in the inning, but were unable to get a man around to add to the tally. In the bottom GE Scien-¥ tists’ half of the initial inn- ing, Foster reached first via a base an balls. Vertucci, the center fielder, struck out. Brost whipped the ball into a double play retiring the side. The top of the second was a wild and furious affair where everything went except the kit- chen sink. The Sea Cats finally made’ their last trudge around the base pads when they had scored 18 runs in the second inning.
