BODY 25 IS TAGGED AS NAVY SALVAGES PLANE VICTIMS Reporter Witnesses Work Of Navy Diving Crew Aboard Barge Marianne Anchored At Scene Of Crash Disaster By SUSAN MCAVOY I have just ridden back with the 25th body from among the 39 passengers who were killed in yesterday's) crash. It was just grappled from the sea by the Navy. It is now 11:45 a.m. Yesterday that 25th body—a} male-—was sitting in his plane seat, perhaps looking at the turquoise water of Key West. Today just at that same time his body—what’s left of it— is wrapped in tarpaulin. The Coast Guard picket boat brought it to the Navy dock. The Senior Medical Officer uncovered it and tagged it No. 25. The ambul- ance took it to the Naval Hospital. Navy men have been*¥ working from the barge Marianne since 1 yesterday afternoon. This morning I spent two hours on the Marianne which is anchored directly over the crashed four en- gine plane. ‘ When I left the Mari- anne via the Coast Guard boat at 11 this moring with the 25th body, the 19 divers : | were still at work. They brought bodies while I deck. Every time tne divers tied a cable around part of the plane, it seemed to loosen a body down in the 28 feet of water.
