Price Range Set At $25 To $170: Yearly Leases Copy Of Map Now Available At Office Of The Citizen, Greene Street Gevernment land = subdivided} into 45 lots, averaging 2 acres! each on Sugarloaf Key, 17 miles northeast of Key West. Florida, as previously announced in The Key West Citizen, have been elassified for lease and sale, Se-| - tretary of the Interior Oscar L. Chapman confirmed today. Veterans will have a 91-day preference right in applying for these lands, All applications filed by qualified veterans of World War lf on or before 10 a. m., of February 28, 1950, will be treat- ed as simultaneous filings. A @rawing will be held if more ap- plications are received than there are lots available. All appli- eetions filed by such veterans after 10 a. m. ,of that day will be considered in the order of filing. Applications by non veterans will be considered beginning May 31, 1958. In all cases, each applicant is entitled to one lot only. 4 Because of the great demand | for these Florida vacation spots, there is very little chance that any of the lots will be left over for purchase by non-veterans. Past experience shows that there are about 29 applications for every available Florida lot, according to the Bureau of Land Management, the Interior agency responsible for the disposal of the iands under the Small Tract law of June 1, 1948. Land classification have shown that the tracts are chiefly valu- able for boating and fishing. The lots are less desirable for bath- ing because of the coral reefs. The lands are, furthermore, un- suitable for farming. Lot 38, which is on the beach, has been reserved by the Government as # vatation spot for public use. | At $5 Annually | OUT OF FOUR ON ROAD TRIP } DEMPSEY NAMED GREATEST BOXER (&) Wirephoto!
