SHOOT YESTERDAY | BOMBERS DOWN ADAMS: SAINTS BEAT CUBANS Vidal Holds Dairy »* Team Without Hit - For Four Frames, Then Allows Run Two good games of baseball were played yesterday afternoon at Wickers Field (Municipal Sta- dium) on Flagler Avenue by teams of the Island City Base- ball League. - In the opener, Atomic Bombers won 3 to J over Adams Dairy and in the nightcap San Carlos Saints downed the Key West Cubans 7 to 1. Vidal held the Dairy boys without a hit or run, for the first four frames, but with two outs in the fifth, Nene Domenech singled to left. In the sixth, J. Lewis, first up tripled to right and J. McManus got credit for a hit to first, to score with the only run for the Dairy boys, The Bombers broke the ice in the second frame, when Roberts singled, J. Mira hit safely and Griffen threw wild and Roberts went to third. Santana walked, to fill the bases, and “Lefty” ‘Aritas flied out to right. Roberts scored after the catch. Bubber “Abanica La _Brias” and Vidal is out to end the frame. Score by innings: R. H. E. Sixteen shooters entered the prize event, a .22 caliber agre- gate match of 10 shots slow fire, over fifty yard course, 10 shots timed fire (20 seconds) and 10 shots rapid fire (10 seconds for eash string of five shots). The prizes were awarded according to classes, Lt. (jg) R. J. Campbell won the Class “A” with a.score of 272-300, P. A. McMasters won the Class “B” with 230-300, and Irvin. Claxton, Class “C” with 184-300. The Class “C” winner was de- cided by the margin or highest score on the rapid fire event, as president of the club, M.
