The government was quick to! act to break up crowds that had | formed in industrial centers in| this city. Forty agitators were arrested within an hour after the strike went into effect. Hundreds of policemen are} riding around in jeeps, dispers- \ i ing crowds and ordering strikers | to retura to their homes. | Nine jeeps ,occupied by po- licemen, crashed into a large! crowd in that part of Rome where Rightwing newspapers are | published.
