PAGE EOUR $21,000 Business Opens Boat Trips For Sightseers A $21,000 charter boat busi-+ ness which will give Key West- ers and tourists daily sight-see- ing trips around the most inte- resting portions of the island will start operating here Satur- day. Captain Lloyd D. Sheaffer and Charles R. Hasse are the pro- prietors of the new tgslted eel known as S. and H.. Charter Boats. The business has been conducted for a short time on a smal scale specializing on U-drive boats but has now been expand- ed at a‘total cost of $21,000, to include a 60-foot' specially equip- ped sight-seeing craft. Starting Saturday at 2 p. m.,,! the “Vagabond”, a completely re-built cabin crui: will con- duct two-hour tours over a 15- mile route. The S. and H. firm spent 15 months building the “Vagabond”,, converting its cab- in superstructure into a row- seat craft accommodating 45 people, installing a new bottom, new keel, new frames, decking and double row of canopied seats, public address system and softdrink facilities. After completing the vessel Shaefer and Hasse had no dock for it so they constructed a new dock near the Craig Dock on the north end of Grinnell street. The cruises will cost $1.50 apiece and take sightseers around Craig Dock, under the bridge in front of the Naval Air station, to Gar- rison Bight, around Fleming Key, past Porter dock, the Navy Yard, Fort Taylor, the South Beaches, Casa Marina and Martello Tow- ers, then circling back over the 15-mile route. Capt. Shaefer will point out places of inte- rest, speaking over the public address system during the tour. The S. and H. firm also an- nounced today that a 62-foot El- co yacht, the Icacos, is available for trips to Havana or Tortug- as for parties of seven. The “Va- gabond” also can bé hired out for private parties or moonlight trips. Five 16-foot Gibbs’ sea skiffs are also operated by the S. and H. firm on U-Drive-It basis, These are inboard-engine crafts especially built for Florida waters of unusually seaworthy design. LEGALS .
