(By Associated Press) NEW YORK, Aug. 24.—Georgie Abrams, 28, of Washington, D. C., outpointed Steve Belloise of New York in a featured 10-round mid- dieweight main event at Madison Square Garden last night. The referee had scored the bout event at four rounds each and two tied, but Judges Monroe and ‘Lestrong had awarded Abrams 6-4 and 7-3, respectively. This gave the Washingtonian the bout by majority decision. Belloise Favored ‘Belloise had won his last 15 fights, 12 of which were by the KO route, and was a 5-1 favorite to cop last night’s tussle and a 2-1 favorite to score a knockout. Abrams was the skilled boxer but he was continually the coun- ter puncher and was on the de- fensive throughout the bout. Belloise was the stronger and landed. by far more damaging blows. At times it seemed Abrams would not be able to weather the storm of blows. The Weather Forecast Key West and Vicinity: Partly cloudy to cloudy this afternoon, tonight and Sunday.
