RECALL PETITION Another rumor which is making the rounds today states that there is a recall petition being circulat-; ed around which has 700 names| on it. We have checked quite a| bit this morning on this rumor} and have found no fire to'all the smoke. The rumor ‘stated’ 'that the recall petition was directeal against three of the commissi6én- ers and of course this would mean | the three commissioners which have the majority in the com- mission at present. But checking| here and there, the only informa- tion I can dig up is that “prob: | ably” a recall petition will be| circulated after six months as di-| rected against Commissioner W.! C. Sweeeting. The charter states| that you must have 35 percent of the registered voters sign the re- call petition beofre proceedings can be started and that only after six months, Then, too, comes the really important point. The/ ballots are printed simply “For} the Recall of ———_———— and Against the Recall of —. e e } MAYBE NEVER BE But, maybe, this will never ever be because so far I cannot see a majority of persons voting| against any of the present com-| missioners. | ° ° | TAXI STANDS | One of the questions which! will come up in the parking me-} ters business is the allocating of} taxi stands along Fleming and} along Duval, which will take up} a reascnable amount f° Spice. The carpenters, by the way, who are greatly religious, put up a sign at the ship which stated in effect that any woman who had the indecency to appear in slacks or shorts in front of the men building the boat were not welcome.
