Official Opening Of Duval St. ~* Centre Was Agreeable Surprise (By MARY J. ‘The historical old dear, to the hearts of many vet- erfans of the last war, has made its final farewell appearance and bow, and hereafter will be “The 1- Street Centre”, branch of MSO, under the auspices of «National Council of Catho- y Service, with Rev. Sewer orm “The Stars of Tomorrow’, pre-| sented by their manager, (Ps Frank Roscoe was a combination of all the smart ideas from Bos- ton, New York, and Philadelphia. | Nothing could out shine this group of talented players. Mrs. Roscoe introduced first her master of ceremonies, Bobby Joseph, age 16, the cleverest and greatest of either young or old in the profession today. His audi- ence O. K.’ed her endorsement by the plaudits he received. | To review this unit and do jus- | tice to its numbers on the pro- gram, would be impossible at this! It was refreshing to hear the lovely tuneful songs and dance music. Jazz played no part in their show. Bobby Joseph, impersonated Pat Rooney, singing his .famous| song, “Casey walked with a straw- berry blonde and the band played! on”, dancing, as he sang, and joined by a chorine of beauties, tap dancing his chorus. The little boy with the big| melodious voice, only eight years cld, his given name Jackie from Hollywood, Fla., was a sensational hit and a very talented dancer, also a very pretty blonde miss who just thrilled every one with her acrobatic stunts. The par excellence of the show was the piamist, a former marine in the last war. He entertained with songs, “before women got the vote,” and after, weaving funny episodes to his ditties and creating hilarious laughter. He was a scream!
