PAGE SIX SOCIETY :- pmernmerrmereon a Luncheon Given Yesterday F ‘or Legion Auxiliary Secretaries Seated horse-shoe ghated table beautifully garlanded with pink coral vine and ferns, than eighty American Legion Auxiliary secretaries and their guests attended the annual Sec taries’ Luncheon given Thursday afternoon at the Overseas Hotel. The luncheon which honored many National and Department officers proved to be one of the most delightful rs planned for the visiting auxiliary The guests, attractively attired in pastel colored spring outfits, were complimentary — color scheme to the bright table ap- pointments. Large Queen Conch shells containing pink double Hibisct pink Coral, Queen Anne’s Lace, Petunia’s, Flox, and other intervals over the long table. Trailing coral vine and fern entwined the shells and form- ed a continuous line of color throughout the center of the table. Hand-painted place cards with tiny shell flowers carried out the shell and flower motiff. The place cards at the distin- guished guests’ table were placed in miniature hand-painted shell holders and further accentuated this idea Mrs. Joe Rovira of Tampa, president of the Secretaries As- sociation of Florida and past De partment Secretary - Treasurer, charmingly presided as chairman of the luncheon The program formally opened with the blessing asked by the past Department Chaplain, Mrs Maud Hisschborg of Jacksonville. Continuing with the program, Mrs. Rovira presented many of the distinguished local guests to the visiting auxiliary. Each per- son introduced gave a few words of greeting and welcome. Among those presented were Mrs. A. M. Morgan, general chairman of the local auxiliary committees; Mrs. Willard Albury, wife of Mayor Albui Mrs. Sebastian Cabrera, local chairman of the Secretaries luncheon; Ms. George Archer, president of the Key West unit; Mrs. Ralph Sawyer, unit secre- tary; Mis. Albert Mills, wife of the convention chairman. Mrs. Sebastian Cabrera, Jr. in turn presented her committee who together with Mrs. Rovira were responsibie for the delight- ful affair. The committee work- ing with Mrs. Cabrera included Mrs. Lee Pierce, Mrs. Stephen Douglass, Mrs. Carl Rom, Mrs. Emerson Archer, Mrs. will Richardson, Mrs. Carl Bervaldi, Mrs. N. B. Shannahan, Mrs. Mil- ton Sawyer, and Mrs. Isabel Ball Mrs. Rovira then introduced the distinguished visiting guests who were being honored at the luncheon.
