While there I happened to be shown an article published-in the January issue of Harper's Magazine by one Theodore Pratt, titled, “Conch In The Keys”, in which the writer asserted that the people West were not friendly, dropped the “h” in conversation. The very nice lady who showed me the ar- ticle asked me if I had noticed any such vagaries among the peo- ple of Key West. The lady, ad- vised me that she had been a’re: dent of Key West all her life and had never observed what the writer, Pratt, asserted to be true. I truthfully advised the lady that no such presentations came to my notice during my stay in the city, also that I could not jagree with what the writer, Pratt, alleged. To the contrary. I told # |her that I found the people of Key West most friendly and hos- pitable, in no instance did I con- verse with persons who dropped “h” in words preceding the I told the y that when I returned to San F: fornia, I would take time to go on |Many Numbers On | Cabaret Program Sixteen big numbers will com- |prise the program to be present- ed Saturday night at the Cabaret being given under the direction {of Mrs. Lillian Connally at the | Habana-Madrid Club.
