Dentists Impressed With City Hospitality After Social Round .,. 25.1 Dentists, technicians, supply “house representatives, their wives and friends and Key Westers had a ‘continuous round of entertain- ment last night as recreation from the clinics and reports of the mid-summer convention be- ing held at the La Concha Hotel. Highlight of the social affairs yesterday was the cocktail party given by Dr. and Mrs. Armando Cobo at their home in the Army Barracks, where nearly 300 were present, including army and navy, city and county officials and a host of Key Westers. The crisp beauty of the white stepha- notis with dark green back- ground of leaves, and a touch of the flaming poinciana provided the floral decoration. Service was from old silver and crystal sets. Following cocktails, the groups arrived at the dance given in |goes the more their honor at the Club Miramar. | Point of intriguing interest was the rumba danced by Mr. and Junior Woma Social meeting of the Woman’s Club was held Thurs- day afternoon in the rooms of the public library, with Mrs. Ray- mond Curry and Mrs. Merrill Roberts in the capacity of hos- Games of Michigan, Rummy and *Bridge were enjoyed and when the several scores were computed it was declared that Mrs. Osgood Kemp and Miss Mar- guerite Hernandez were the win- ners, Delicious refreshments were! tuna Lopez, served during the afternoon. Guests of the club were: Mis- ses Cleora Roberts, Bebe Spence, Virginia Shine, Marjorie Atwell, Faye Adams, Clarabell Cerezo, Grace Perez, Louise Hawkes, Junior | Mrs. Albert Boza. Visiting den- tists attempted various modifi- cations of the dance, and were very much pleased with their success. It was an extremely merry group at the dance, which continued until late hours. A banquet held at 7 p. m. was made especially interesting since no formal speeches or prelimi- nary affair were scheduled, the talk being thrown open to con- vention members. Wit flowed freely. Nearly 150 present con- ventionists were grouped around three tables. They were served Spanish dishes. The visiting members seem ex- tremely well impressed with Key West hospitality, many of them stating that it has often been said that the further south one hospitable the people, and that Key West’s hos- pitality bears out its southern- most position. Everyone has tried to do everything to show them a good time, they, say. ns Clo Hebde= Enjoyable Meeting Thursday, Anita Salgago, Frances Lee Till- | Meeting, Sea Scouts, Ship 3.! er, Mrs. Milton Roberts and Mrs. Julio Lacedonia.
