But you probably have some well- hated pieces, too. The old book- case that’s threatened to fall down for many a moon... the chair that you have to yell “Be careful!” over...the old table that’s about as smooth as the | gravel in the driveway. You can’t get rid of ’em, so why not put in a little less effort than pure hate and fix ’’em up? Of course, no amount of enam- elling is going to keep the chair from falling down. But once you fix it (probably all it needs is a little glue), enamel’s going to make a new chair out of it. And what’s more you can make it any color you like. Start around now with a men- tal notebook. Stick out your tongue at every single piece you've heartily disliked for years and say with a sneer, “I know what’s going to happen to you!” Then, spread out newspapers in the basement. Get George to carry every stick down there. A few nails and a little glue judi- ciously used will make everything sturdy enough to hold your fat- test, Aun’ Nou’re ready to paint! efurn the chair upside down weccesccecoces AROUND MIAMI (By CONTRIBUTOR) The corner store on our street is never crowded and I wondered why. Because, across the stree' amanin a small “stand” h plenty of business. So I dropped in at the corner store. The pro- prietor was listening to the radio. He did not see me until I’d shuf- fled about a bit, then he seemed mildly attentive. He dug out twe bottles of ginger ale for me, made the wrong change. asked for nickle back which he had over- looked and handed me the bot- tles, unwrapped, to take out. In five minutes in his store I had learned why it was never crowd- ed. The man, like many other small store keepers, thought he was doing the public a favor by being there at all. But the stand across the street will grow. That man is anxious, wide-awake, on his toes for every customer. ‘éiaacouncehas ANSWERS TO T TEST QUESTIONS Below are the answers to test questions printed on Page 2 ee e eeceee 1. Bighorn. 2.
