There is a rumor afloat in Miami that the representatives of an advertising agency will sweep down upon Key West and “milk this city and county dry”, as it was expressed. As this column has stated many times the merchants of this city should insist on the endorsement of the Chamber of Commerce of any advertising before contributing. From now on almost daily schemers will deseend upon the city to inveigle merchants and business men to part with hard earned money wrung from small profits for multi- farious advertising schemes, mostly a questionable character.
