Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Gilbert, who came to Key West on account of the illness and death of Charles Curtis, left over the Florida East Coast last evening for their home in Miami. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert formerly resided here and they have many friends who were glad to see them again. Mrs. Gilbert is a cousin of Mrs. Curtis. to alleviate your suffering. IN APPRECIATION Surrounded by his devoted mily and sorrowing friends, Charles Curtis was laid to rest on the afternoon of August 13, aft- days. Born in Key West on June 17, 1867, the eldest son of James Curtis and Marry Ellen Curry, he was educated. in .the, Public Schools of the city and when he grew to manhood, took an active part in the social, as well as the business life of the community. In 1900 he married Miss Lillian Blake of St. Marys, Ontario, Can- ada and to this marriage, two chil- dren were born, one of whom pass- ed away at an early age, the other is Mrs. I, N. Meltzer, of Miami.
