However, Key Westers generally are’ not aware of that fact regarding Mr. Al- bury, which further corroborates the truth of the old saying that:a prophet is without | : honor in his own country. “You people in Key West,” a Flor- |: Cif idian remarked in The Citizen office when the last legislature was in session, i “apparently don’t know that in ‘Albury you‘ have one of the best legislators in Talla-| | hassee, a man who is always on ‘tiptoe to) promote and conserve the interests of ‘his county and ‘his state.” ‘CRITICISM WHEN NOBODY KNOWS (Star, ‘Elkton, Md.) Since the resignation of Mr. Sprague and the opening of the barage laid down by the “gold dollar” group ‘there is no lack | of criticism per se. What is lacking, how- ever, is constructive criticism that is .able to say “‘you are wrong, but here jis the :right course.” Truth of the matter is that nobody knows, least of.all the smart boys who run | ‘the big banks:and handle other people's money. The nation, admittedly, was ina ‘bal way when President Roosevelt assumed control of the government. At ‘that time everybody realized ‘that something had ‘to be.done and nobody knew what'to do. The President ‘acted then and he ‘is continuing to act. Key West has been somewhat per- ‘turbed, it seems, because piles of sand that had been left along roadways for a CWA street sanding and oiling project before Washington turned thumbs down on the work have been disappearing. The people of this country must realize today, if they have not heretofore that the welfare of all the people jis su- perior to the welfare of any group, that any program which “takes care” of a small class at the expense of a larger class is wrong and that, in the long run, we will have to prosper together.
