Measure capacity AN OLD-FASHIONED GAL What is declared to be the oldest known specimen of the American girl was discovered some months ago in Ottertail County, Minnesota, and scientists have been studying her ever since. True, they have only her skeleton to aid their investigations, but this has proved most interesting. According to Dr. A. E. Jenks, an- thropologist of the University of Minnesota, | the skeleton is that of a prehistoric Indian girl, who was about 17 years old. at the time of her death, which occurred some 20,000 years ago as a result of violence, perhaps murder. Evidences that an arrow or spear had pierced her breast weve given by marks on the ribs and shoulder blade.
