The sheritf succeeded in getting a physician who dressed the wound. It was learned by the sheriff that the wounded man and the womai d been in a room on a house o1 stabbing is said to have occurred, with no other person present. Finding no one who could give Niles arrested the woman, placed her in the county jail where she now is. She declares her innocence and Griffin refuses to talk, says the sheriff. This morning Griffin went to the jail to secure the woman’s re- lease and was ‘told by the sheriff that the woman was not to be re- leased until it was shown that the wound is not dangerous, Griffin was advised by the sheriff to go home. Afterwards the sheriff tele- phoned the physician who had at- tended Griffin and asked if the wounded man is out of danger, and was told that he was not out of danger by any means.
