Hunt, who has announced his candidacy for a sixth term as governor of Arizona, was the first governor of that State, having been elected to the office in 1911. He is a Missour- ian who comparatively early in life-invaded Arizona and for a time roamed its plains as a ranch owner and cattle raiser. Then he turned to storekeeping, became well-to-do, organized and managed a large trading company at Globe, and in the course of time was sent to the lower house of the territorial as- sembly.
