PAGE EIGHT SCOUTS MAKING - READY TO LEAVE ON ENCAMPMENT ORGANIZATION WILL GO TO CLEARWATER SATURDAY NIGHT VIA STEAMER GOV- ERNOR COBB All arrangements have been made, and Troop No. 4, Boy Scouts will leave here Saturday night on the Steamship Governor Cobb for Tampa, enroute to Clear- water, Fla., where they will spend their summer encampment of two weeks. On their arrival in Tampa they will be met by a committee from Troop No. 2 of Clearwater headed by Scout Master Harold E Camp, who has arranged to have ears to convey the boys to their camp. This is an unexpected pleasure and will give the troop a chance ‘o see the surrounding country before they settle down to their scout life, and judging from the letters received by Scout- master Jenks, this is only one of the many pleasant events that are planned for the visiting troop. Troop No. 4 is, justly proud of the wonderful advancement made by them during the first year of their registration. and while the boys have worked hard to make possible their initial encampment, they have only the kindest of thoughts and words of apprecia- tion for those who have so loyally supported their efforts, and hope that the time will come when indi- Yidually or collectively they may be able to show the people of Key West their sincere gratitude. This» being the first encampment of this troop, their camp at Clear- water will be named Camp Sweet- tng; if Honor of their Scout Moth- @, Mrs. Julia Sweeting. The troop will mect at ‘heir head- Guarters on’ Duval Street at six o'clock Saturday evening, and march down to the depot, and no doubt there will be a large crowd ‘to witness their depariure as the relatives and friends of the boys fre planning to give them a big “send-off. Those making the trip are as follows: Scout Master J, A. Jenks; assis- tant Scout Master S, Moore; jun- for assistant Scout Masters Chil- ton Knowles and Joseph Lowe; “senior patrol leaders Everett Hall, Ward Roberts, Fernando Stirrup, John Saunders and Joseph Allen; assistant patrol leaders Louis Men- endez, Merino Wallace, Esmond Albury; and troop scribe Richard “Curry; scouts Charles © Saurez, ®erl Baker, William Alymeda, Robert Curry, John Blackwell, Max Rosen-hal, Eugene Harden, Frederick Mixon, and Alvin Smith; ‘troop chef Joseph Menendez, as sistant chef Clarence Sweeting.
