ROSES June is called the month of roses, and it is a gicrious time in many homes when the roses are i blossom. In Key West, where it is June the year found, and roses bloom beautifully every day of @ery season, peoplé do not realize the joy the onth of roses brings farther north, where in any neighborhoods the climbing varieties have Been fashionable, and the homes thus decorated gem to acquire a sensational touch of beauty, as se sturdy little pushers make their way over Porches and pillars. There is the intense feeling in Iowa and near-by states, because the administration is not favpring the measures which they demand for re- lief of the farmers, The particular ideas which are leading to these various results and tendencies are not necessarily corfect and well based. But the sentiment revealed in these states shows that revolt is growing rapid 1 At this writing it looks very unlikely that the Republican party can control the congress to be elected next November. It is barely possible that it will have a nominal majority, but to figure out such a control, it seems certain that insurgent congressmen who rarely vote with the regular Republicans would have to be counted in. The sentiment of the country seems te be clearly that the policies of the administra tion that are merely temporizing with the evils trouble the country, and do not relieve the condi tron thet Lareass the people. The Republican administration does not seem to be in possession of any particular idea that can deo a great deal to correct such evils as the high prices that af people all over the country, and the in the which i The bowl farming districts driving people into bankruptey of cconomy are kood ro far a permit the taxc nh bie incemes be lowered, which does not meet the evils th; ge con | and City Planning Law | through a state-wide enabling act that will give | make | “holds water.” | long hours | the result KEY WEST SELFISH FOR ALL FLORIDA Key West is unselfish for herself; she is selfish for every city and town in all of Florida.
