PAGE EIGHT MAY FESTIVAL TO BE STAGED ON THURSDAY EVENT TO TAKE PLACE AT ARMY BARRACKS UNDER AUSPICES OF WOMAN'S! CLUB | | The May festival sponsored by the Woman's Club will be staged 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Key West Barracks. There will be May pole dances with school children taking part under the direction of Miss Mar- guerite Capo. Delightful home- made cake and other goodies will be served there, The crowning of the May queen will be one of the most important and beautiful events of the fes- tival. COMMISSIONERS TO ATTEND ROAD MEET IN MIAMI CHAIRMAN OF MONROE COUNTY SOARD RECEIVES PLANS ON ROUTING OF TA- MIAMI TRAIL J. Otto Kirchheiner, chairman of the Monroe County Commis- | %, sioners, will leave this evening for Miami, where a conference will be| held with the Dade County Com- misioners. Mr. Kirchheiner stated that hej} has received the finat plans on the} routing of the Tamiami Trail as} planned by the state road depart- ment. According to this informa- tion the road will go through Col-| lier County and will not be routed through Monroe County. A mass meeting was held several | days ago in Key West at which a resolution was drafted and sent to Governor Martin and members of the state road department ask- ing that the original plan of the road department of routing the Tamiami Trail through Monroe County be adhered to. The matter of routing the road according to the original plan will be discussed at the meeting in, Miami tomorrow. The Dade County Commissioners are very much in sympathy with Monroe County and are willing to give their hearty co-operation to the county in this matter, it is said.
