PAGE EIGHT — JOINT MEETIN OF ODD FELLOWS THIS EVENING VARIOUS LOCAL LODGES WILL ASSEMBLE IN OPEN SESSION ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT A combined meeting of all the Odd Fellow lodges in the city will be held with Key West lodge No. 13, beginning at 8 o'clock tonight when definite arrangements. will be-made for big open meeting of the order to be given Wednesday evening in the auditorium of the Garden theatre on Caroline street. This will be a most auspicious event and will mark the one hun- dred and seventh anniversary of the Independant Order -of Odd Fellows. An interesting and -ap- propriate program will be rendered and refreshments will be served. This celebration will be on the or- der of a grand opening meeting of.the local Odd Fellows. Ail members of the order, their fam- ilies and ‘friends are cordially in- vited to attend this enjoyable and interesting occasion. This celebration was called by District Deputy Grand Master Wil- am Mendell by authority of a proclamation sent out by Grand Master of the State of Flarida, Wm. F. Hansen, of ‘Pensacola. The program for the big cele- bration Wednesday night is being a@tranged by a committee the mem- bers of which were chosen from each of the local lodges, and will afford an evening of delightful en- tertainment. The principal speakers at the celebration Wednesday night will be past Grand Master of the State * Wm. H. Malone, who will repre- sent Equity lodge 70; Past Grand Arthur Gomez for Key West lodge 18, and Andrew Lopez for Cuban lodge 15. Members of the sister lodge, Sparkling Water No. 14 Rebekahs, will attend this event attired in their, full regalia, a special dis- pensation having been granted per- mitting them to do so, Key West enjoys thé distinction of having had the largest number of Grand Masters in Oddfellowship of any other city of its size in the state, two of them being Dr. J. In the list was’ in- cluded the natural advantages to be found here and the different industries for which there ° are openings and openings in the line of construction work. Board of Appraisers Hold Conference On Scavenger Question Mayor Leslie A, Curry and Capt. Jack Maher held a con- ference Saturday evening and named Paul Boysen as the third member of the board of appraisers to_act for the city council in the bage hauling equipment. The city appointed the mayor on this board and Mr. Gwynn named Capt. Maher. They, to- gether, decided upon the third merthber. This board is to set the price that the city should pay Mr. Gwynn for his outfit. The city council will meet in extra sessioh at 8 o’clock tonight to thoroughly consider the garbage situation and take whatever ac- tion that may be necessary or ad- visable. Funeral Services Are Held Here Sunday For John M. Warren The funeral service for John M. Warren, who died Saturday morn- ing at the home of his brother-in- law, D. Z. Filer, on North Beach, in this city, which was held at the St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catho- lic church at 4:30 o’elock Sunday afternoon, was largely attended by the many friends of the deceased in this city. Rev, Father Mau- reau was the officiating minister, and the following frie of the deceased acted as pallbearers; Hilton Kemp, Luke Kemp, Tom Warren, Mr. Goshorn, Graham Lester and Charies Folk.
