White, left last night at 7:30 o'clock for Tampa with a large number of passengers on board. The steamer will return to this port on Friday morning. se 8 Steamer Leaves Port. The oil tank steamer Pioneer, which arrived at this port yester- day from Tampico, left again this on the return trip to Tampico. While at this port the vessel was consigned to Everett Russell, agent of the oil company at this pate ® San Jacinto pa Saturday. The Mallory steamship San Ja- ginto will arrive in port on Satur- day night from New York en route .to Galveston with passen- gers and freight on board. The vessel has considerable freight for this port. ‘_* Vessel Arrives The schooner Admiral. Sturdee, _ Captain Hunter, arrived in port yesterday.from Routan with a load of fruit consigned to Russell’s Produce House. The vessel is con- signed to Taylor & Company. > »* © Small Shipment. The fery boat arriving here Monday night from Havana had three loads of pineapples on board. These pineapples were. transfer- red into other cats at this port for shipment north. See The Key West Electric Co. aprie COURT HOUSE GROUNDS TO BE ILLUMINATED FINISHING “FouchEs BEING PUT ON WORK IN INSTALLA- TION OF WHITE WAY SYS- TEM The white way for the illumina- tion of the ‘pretty grounds sur- rounding the county court house is receiving “its finishing touches this afternoon, and the lights are expected to be turned on tonight for the first time. County Engineer Clifton Bailey says they. will be turned on to- night if the work is finished in time, if not the system will be sure to be in operation tomorrow night. This illumination system for} the court house grounds includes twenty ornamental light posts, six inside the enclosure and fourteen on the street sidewalks. The posts jand white globes were furnished by the Westinghouse - Electric Company, and Ross Roberts is the installing electrician. . The entire system when completed and in operation will represent an ex- penditure of $2,500 on the part of the county commissioners. Commissioner. Braxton Warren), conceived the idea’ of beautifying the court house grounds in his way, and through. his . persistent suggestions the matter was. con- sidered by the board of. commis- sioners and definite plans agreed upon and approved.
