Con- stant attendance at games and reading the base- ball news every day would seem to them a waste of valuable time, The present generation regards baseball as a normal interest. Many of the men and boys who devote much time to following the game, would spend the same time, if there was no such sport, in. aimless loafing or something worse. People need an outlet. They can not spend all their time in dull routine. Baseball gives the raasséd one of the most healthful outlets ever de- vised for them, one that does not depend upon any vice for its interest, which leads them to admire & certain form of achievement and skill.
