A ——— “Bill” Powers Welcomed. W. J. Powers, formerly of the firm of W. J. & H. D. Powers, who. left here for his former home at Sioux Cily, lowa. a short time ago, given quite a reception on his return to the Iowa town. We clip fhe following from a daily paper at that place: ““Bill’ Powers arrived in town this morning and made for the yards. The minutes of the meeting of Nov. 24th were read and approved. Cash to the amount of $15.50 was received from Gus Voight as the pur- chase price of the old Freestone school house, Said money was turned over to, the treasurer, Charles Lund, having sent word that he would not accept the contract to transport children to the Blackberry school over Route No. 2, it. was moved that the contract! be awarded to Neil McKinley, the next lowest bidder, at $75.00 per month. Motion carried. The bid of Seymour Washburn to transport children to the Blackberry school over Route No, One (going by the road north of the railroad) for the sum of $75.00 per month was, upon motion, accepted. ENTS, That we, the undersigned, do hereby associate ourselves together as a body corporate, under and pur- suant to and in conformity with thé provisions of ‘dChapter 58 of the Re-+ vised Laws of Minnesota, 1905” and all acts amendatory thereof in so far ag the same apply to manufcturing com- panies, for the purpose of organizing a corporation, and do certify that! to effect such purpose we have adopted, and signed the following articles of in- ‘corporation:, ARTICLE I. ARTICLE V. The management of the corporation shall be vested in a board of three directors, who shall be stockholders of and in the corporation, and shall be jelected yearly at the annual’ meeting of said corporation’s stockholders, to be held on the second Monday in January, in each year, beginning with the year 1914; immediately following the an- nual stockholder’s meeting, the board of directors, elected at such meeting, shall convene and shall elect from | among their number four officers of the corporation, namely; President, vice president, secretary and treasurer, and any two of said offices, except president and vice president, may be held by the same person. And all direct- ors and officers of this corporation shall hold their respective offices until their successors have been duly elected and entered upon the discharge of their duties. Until such annual meeting, to be held in the year 1914, Fred M. Scofield, William R. Wallace, both of Deer River, Minnesota, and Elmer E. Kenfield, of Bemidji, Minnesota, shall constitute the ffirsq board of directors, and shall hold their office until their successors are duly elected and qualified, Until the election and organization of a new board of directors of said corporation the fol- flowing named persons shall be the re- spective officers of this corporation: Fred M.
