Burgess reported that he and J. D, Doran had looked over the school situations in Bearville and Car- penter Townships and that they recom- meaded the building of a frame school | - house near Greenrock in _Bearville Township and two log schoolhouses in Carpenter Township. Upon motion the recommendation was adopted and the clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the building of the frame school house. As the attendance at the Stingy Lake School is very small it waS upon motion decided to close said school about Feb- ruary first and transfer the teacher to the Clinite School for a five month term. It was decided to move the Thorofare School building to the Giles and Kessler neighborhood at Rice Lake and to call for bids for the moving of said building. The clerk wsainstructed to advertise for bids for furnishing wood for the Grand Rapids and Cohasset Schools. Bids for building an addition to the McKinley School building were received as follows;G. W. Sawyer $282.00. Andrew King, $432.00, George Williams. $233.00. The bid of George Williams was upon motion accepted.
