The County Surveyor was instructed to look out route for a road extending from the Village of Grand Rapids into the northwestern part of Town 55-25. Commissioner Shellman moved that the County Attorney be instructed to proceed to collect from the relatives of Nichols Swift the amount expended by the County in boarding and care of said Nichols Swift at the County Poor Farm. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote. Upon motion tions for county 105, 106 and 107 the next meeting. Commissioner King moved that the sum of $50 be appropriated from the Ceunty Road and Bridge fund to be expended under the direction of J. A. Sandwick in the improvement of a road known as the Sandwick road, in Township 61, Range 25. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner Nelson and carried by unani- mous vote. Commissioner King moved that the sum of $300 be appropriated from the county road and bridge fund to the town of Sand Lake to aid said Town in the repairs and construction of roads and bridges. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner King moved that a committee be appointed to examine the work done on the road known as_ the Grattan road. The motion was second- ed by Commissioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote. . Commissioner O’Brien, King and Mul- lins were appointed as such committee. Commissioner King moved that a committee be appointed to examine the work done under road contract in Town- ship 146, Range 25, being in the Organ- ized Town of Oteneagen. The motion the hearing upon_peti- roads numbered 80, were continued until was seconded by Commissioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote. Com- missioners O’Brien, King and Nelson were appointed as such committee. Commissioner King moved that a com- mittee consisting of Commissioners Shell- man, Mullins and Nelson be appointed to examine a road beginning at the southwest corner of section 19, Town- ship 54, Range 23, and running south and west to section 2, Township 53, range 24, That said committee have au- thority to direct the necessary repairs upon said road the amount to be ex- | pended not to exceed the sum of $250. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote. The matter of the bids for certain im- provements upon the County Court the construction of County Road No. 101 were again taken up. Commissioner Nelson moved that the bid of O. R. Mangseth for painting be.accepted. The motion was second- ed by Commissioner Shellman and car- ried by unanimous vote. Commissioner King moved that the bid of John Whaling for plastering the jcounty court house be accepted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Nelson and carried by unanimous voie. Commissioner Nelson moved that the bid of A. A. Mitchell and Henry Volke for the construction of County Road No. 101 be accepted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner King and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner Shellman moved _ that Joe Whittman of Deer River be allowed relief in the sum of $15 per month, that the County Auditor be instructed to is- sue his warrant on the Ist of each month in payment of such relief. Said relief to begin on the Ist day of No- vember, 1911, and to continue in force until further action is taken by this The motion was seconded . by King and carried by un- animous vote. Upon the request of the Chairman, Vice Chairman Shellman took the chair. Commissioner Mullins then moved that the report of the state Engineer upon the acceptance of the job of construct- ing Judicial Ditch No. One be approy- ed and accepted by this board and that the county Auditor be authorized and instructed to draw his warrant for the amount due upon the contract for the construction of said ditch. The motion was conded by Commission- er Shellman and upon roll call was car- ried by the following vote: Yea: Com- missioners Mullins, Nelson and Shell- man. Absent: Commissioners King and O’Brien.
