J. S. Lofberg appeared before the ‘council and stated that he had been engaged by the Village Committee on Streets and Alleys to build and cpnstruct certain cross-walks in the village and that he had agreed to build and con- struct same at a cost of 12 1-2 cents per foot, but with the material that he was using upon said work he would not be able to construct but two of such cross-walks, and that if it was the de- sire of the council that he build any furs) ther walks he would require payment of 15 cents per foot for the same. After some discussion it was the opin- ion of the council that the material be. ing used by Mr. Lofberg was better than that heretofore used in the con- struction of cross-walks and that it was for the best interests of the Village that the cross-walks desired put in this year be constructed of said mater- ial, and upon motion, duly seconded and carried, J.
