Peter Gladt, a business mar of Lake City, and his son Elmer were electro- cuted on a street in that city. ; An electric wire broke near their home and fell into’the street. It be- came entangled with telephone wires and young Gludt, who was a lineman employed by the telephone company, i went out to fix it. As soon as he touched the wires he received a shock and fell back as though dead. His went to his rescue. The older man, when he took hold jof the body of his son, was also struck |by the electric current and immedi- | ately became helpless. The wife and | mother then hurried to the scene and managed to detach the bodies from the burning wires. She was not in- jjured. Both men died. two sons. Elmer, the dead boy, was ; twenty. Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Dies in Bermuda. | St. Paul Woman Ends Life. Despondent because-of an apparent- ly incurable malady, Evert of St. Paul, forty-five years ‘of age, took her own life in the bath ;Toom of her home in that city. Using | ‘her husband’s razor she slashed her throat and wrists, expiring fifteen minutes later. Mrs. Freda | END CAME UNEXPECTEDLY Supreme Court Justice Jaggard Dies | in Bermuda. | Justice Edwin A. Jaggard of the state supreme court died of heart fail- ure in Bermuda, where he went short- ly after the first of the year for his health. Letters lately received from him by friends in this city spoke en- couragingly of his condition and the announcement of his death comes aa | a shock to those who knew him. Justice Jaggard’s departure for Bex muda followed a general breakdown, brought on by a severe affliction of the | eyes. He had been under the care of | physicians for some time and it was thought his condition was improving. An attack of ptomaine poisoning weakened him to such an extent that on the advice of his physician he de- termined to go to the Bermudas for a month or two. | Justice Jaggard was one of the most lovable men who ever lived in St. Paul. He was always courteous to every one who approached him, though posses sing a quiet dignity which befitted one in his position.
