Pursuant to adjournment the town board met this 7th day of April at the office of the town clerk. The meeting was called to order by Chair- man Nisbett. Present Chairman. Nis- bett, Supervisors McEwan and Zein- inger and Deputy Town Clerk Mc- ‘Mahon. ; The minutes of the previous meet- ing were read and adopted as read. A communication from E. J. Far- rell secretary of Itasca county Div- ision of the Northern Minnesota De- velopment Association was read and upon motion of Supervisor McEwan seconded by Zininger, town clerk was instructed to issue a warrant for the sum of $5.00 in favor of S. J. Mo- ran, treasurer of the association, in payment of fees due from the town of Grand Rapids. This fee was levied by the association for all organized towns. The town clerk was also in- structed to furnish names of deligates appointed to the convention by the chairman of the board. Upon motion made and carried the village of Grand Rapids was granted storage room in the township tool shed. Said room to be used for the storage of any and all tools etc the village council may wish stored. Supervisor McEwan moved the ac- ceptance of bond as furnished by the First National bank as despository and also moved that the action of the treasurer in appointing said bank as depository be approved by the board. Motion as made was seconded by Sup ervisor Zeininger and carried. The resignation of Edward Hachey as justice of the peace was read and upon motion made and carried was accepted and ordered filed. A motion was made by Supervisor McEwan that H. S. Huson be appoint- ed to fill the vacancy as justice of the peace for the township of Grand Rapids im place of Edward Hachey Motion was duly seconded and H. S. Huson was appointed to the office. Bond of Treasure Connell in the sum of $10,000 was read and upon motion made and carried was approv- ed and ordered placed with the reg- ister of deeds for recording. Supervisor McEwan moved that the town clerk be instructed to notify the town boards of the towns of Har- ris and Blackberry that the town poard of the town of Grand Rapids desires a joint meeting of the three boards on May 7th at 2 o’clock p. m. The object of the meeting is to ap- pear before the county commissioners on this day and make application for an appropriation. for money to be us- ed on the Blackberry and Split Hand roads. Supervisor Zeininger second- ed the motion and the town clerk was instructed accordingly. Supervisor Zeininger moved that th chairman imstruct the suveyor to make a survey of the Prairie river road and also make a survey and map of a cross road from the Hunt- ley road to the Split Hand road, said survey to be made of the most feas- able route and near the south line of the township. The motion was sec- | onded by McEwan and carried. Supervisor McEwan moved that the wage scale for the township be fixed as follows; Man and team $5.50 per day, common labor $2.25 per day and road overseer at $3.00 per day. Mo- tion seconded by Supervisor Zin- inger and carried. The road overseer was instructed to make the necessary repairs on the Prairie river road and also the Bovey and Pokegama lake roads.
