C. .. 312 The matter of hearing upon the petition of Catherine Hoolihan and W1 Hoolihan to detatch certain lands from the village of Grand Rapids was then taken under consideration. Commissioner O’Brien moved that the following order be adopted: Whereas a petition signed by Cath- erine Hoolihan and Wm. Hoolihan as the owners of lands hereinafter described asking that an order be made detaching said land from the village of Grand Rapids was present- ed to the county board, of this county at a session of said board held on the 16th day of November, 1909, for the action of said board thereon; And Whereas, it was then) ordered by said board that a hearing be had on said petition, at a session of said poard, commencing on the 28th day of December 1909 at the county court house in the village of Grand Rapids, in said county; And Whereas, due notice of the time and place of such hearing has been given by serving a copy of said notice upon the Village recorder of said village and by the publication of said notice for two successive weeks in the Grand Rapids Herald-Review, the official newspaper of said village; And whereas, said petition has now been publicly read and considered amd arguments) of all persons in- terested therein have been duly hearc and considered; It Is Hereby Ordered, that said petition be granted and the following described territory, to-wit: That portion of lot 2, section 22, township 55, range 25 lying north of the right-of-way of the Great North- ern railroad and all of the NW% of section 22, township 55 range 25, ex- cept a piece of land 300 feet square in the southwest corner thereof, be and the same are hereby detached from the village of Grand Rapids. The motion was seconded by Commis sioner O’Brien and carried by unani- mous vote. ,» Am adjournment was then taken to 1:30 o’clock ‘p. m. Pursuant to adjournment the board again met} at 1:30 p. m. Present Commissioners Mullins, Trebilcock, O’Brien and McWilliams. The applications of McGuire & Gilbo and John Pennala for refund- ment of Liquor License money, on. ac- count of license being annulled by Commissioner O’Brien moved that} said applications be allowed and that the county auditor be instructed to issue a warrant for the amount of the unearned portion of said licenses. The motion was seconded by Commissione er McWilliams and carried by un- animous vote. It being the time set for hearing upon the petition for the establish-| ment of county roads Nos. 70, 71, 72,) 73 and 74, the same were then taken | under consideration. The severla committees appointed to examine the routes of said roads filed reports recommending that said petitions be \gijantied Commissioner Trebilcock moved that said petitions be granted; that each and all of said highways be and the same are ‘hereby ordered est- ablished according to the reports of the committees; and that the advant- } ages and benefits to each descrip- tion of land dver which each of said roads run be and are hereby assess- ed equal to the damages sustained. Grand Rapids, Minn., Dec. 20, 1909. A regular meeting of school board lof District No. 1 of Itasca county, Minnesota, was held in the board’s office. All members were present. The resignation of Miss Effie Smitt teacher at Balsam lake schoo] was ed to take effect January 10th, 1910. It was decided to close the Castle Creek school and transfer the teach- er, Miss Margaret McHolland to the Vance school.
