PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grand Rapids, Minn., March 13th. 1909. Pursuant to call a special meeting of the board of county commissioner of Itasca county, Minnesota, was held atthe court house in the village of Grand Rapids this 13th day of March, 1909. Present: Commissioner Neil Mullins. No quorum being present, an adjournment was taken to Monday the 15th day of March, 1909, at 3 o'clock p. Mm. . Pursuant to adjournment, the board again met this 15th day of March, 1909 at 3 o'clock Commissioner Mullins, O’Brien illiams tion of J. Shere & J. Bouch for se to sell intoxicating liquors in the Marble located ‘on lots’ 13,14 and 15, block 5 of the plat of Marble was then taken under consideration, There being no ob- jections filed or offered. against the granting of said application, Commissioner O’Brien moved that said application be allowed and that license be issued to said applicants in accordance with ‘said “application. motion was seconded by ‘Commissioner MeWilliams and carried by unanimous vote. Attorney George H. Spear then came be- fore the board and presented and filed with the board a petition signed by twenty-five citizens and taxpayer of School District No. 1, petitioning the board to request the State Public Examiner to make an examination of the books and records of said School District No.1 pursuant tothe provisions of Chapter 344. general laws of Minnesota for 1907, After considerable discussion of the matter, Commissioner McWilliams moved the adop- tion of the following resolution: “Whereas, there has been this day pre- sented to the board of county commissioners in and for the county of [tasca and state of Minnesota, a certain petition signed by cer= tain citizens and taxpayers in Common School District No. 1, the Same being a com- mon school district lying entirely within suid county, and which said petition prays the said board of county commissioners to adopt a resolution requesting the public examiner of the state of Minnesota, to forwith examine and uudit the books of account, and other records required bylaw tobe kept by the officers in suid school district, And whereas, it is now considered desirable that the examination so requested should be made and whereas it further appears that the interests and welfare not only of said | district but of the county atlarge be promoted thereby. ow, therefor, be it and it hereby is re- solved that the Hon, Anton Schaefer as public examiner in and for the said state of Minnesota be and he hereby is requested to forthwith examine and audit or cause to be examined and audited all the books of »unt and other records required by law to be kept by the officers of suid Common School District No.1, and to report the results of i xamination aud audit, and to filea id report in the manner provid- tutes insvch ones made and hote! further, thata certified copy of this re- solution, together with acopy of the said petition sented to this bourd, be forth- with transmitted to the said public examiner.
